• Well Installation Report - Former Unocal Service Station No 0187 <br /> October 21, 1997 <br /> Wellhead Survex <br /> Following installation of the well, the casing elevations were surveyed by a California <br /> licensed surveyor. Top of casing and vault box elevations were measured relative to MSL <br /> Horizontal coordinates were obtained and are included with the surveyor's report These <br /> data have been forwarded to MPDS for inclusion in their Quarterly Monitonng Reports. <br /> A copy of the surveyor's report is included in Appendix D <br /> RESULTS OF SUBSURFACE INVESTIGATION <br /> Soil Conditions <br /> Soil encountered in boring U-9 consists of sandy silt with interbedded strata of sand and <br /> silty sand approximately 3 to 10 feet thick Fine sand was encountered from 40 to 56 feet <br /> bgs, the total depth explored A fine gravel (up to 15%) was encountered in the upper 5 <br /> feet of this sand The boring was terminated witnout encountering any material that <br /> appeared to act as a basal aquitard <br /> Groundwater Conditions <br /> Groundwater was encountered approximately 36 feet bgs in the well boring On August <br /> 25, 1997, groundwater was measured at 32 98 feet bgs in well U-9 <br /> CHEMICAL ANALYTICAL RESULTS <br /> A total of three soil samples from the soil boring, one sample from the stockpiled drill <br /> cuttings, and one groundwater sample were submitted for chemical analysis Soil and <br /> groundwater chemical analyses were performed by Sequoia Analytical of Sacramento <br /> (FLAP #1624), and Redwood City (ELAP #1210), California, respectively. Soil chemical <br /> analytical data has been summarized in Table 1, and groundwater chemical analytical data <br /> has been summarized in Table 2. Copies of the laboratory reports and chain-of-custody <br /> forms are presented in Appendix E <br /> Chemical Analytical Procedures <br /> Soil samples were analyzed for TPHg and benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and total <br /> xylenes (BTEX) by Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Method 5030/8020 DHS Luft <br /> Stockpile sample SS-I A-D was analyzed for TPHg, BTEX, and total lead by EPA method <br /> 6010 Groundwater samples were analyzed for TPHg, BTEX, and i-iethyl-tert-butyl-ether <br /> (MTBE) by EPA Method 8015 Modified/8020 <br /> 482721-2 5 <br />
