y Manteca Unified School District
Soil&Groundwater Investigation Report II
Page:2
On December 6, 2000 M. J. Kloberdanz & Associates drilled three soil borings to various
depths in the area around the former dispenser and underground diesel tank.
Boring B-1 was drilled 1.25 inch diameter drill between the former dispenser and
underground diesel tank to a depth of 30 feet with no odor or soil discoloration
encountered. Laboratory soil samples were collected and analyzed from the 10, 15, 20
and 30 foot depths. Low levels of diesel range petroleum hydrocarbons were present in
all of the samples. Benzene, Toluene, Ethyl Benzene, and Xylene (BTEX) were not
detected in the soil samples. Groundwater sampling was conducted by driving a
hydropunch type well screen from 20 to 24 feet in depth. A water sample could not
collected from the boring.
Boring B-2 was drilled inside the shop building, southwest of the former diesel dispenser
with a 2 inch continuous core barrel. The boring was advanced to a depth of 24 feet
without encountering petroleum odor or discoloration. Low levels of diesel range
petroleum hydrocarbons were detected in soil samples collected from 8, 16, and 24 foot
depths. A water sample, collected from the boring contained, trace levels of diesel range
petroleum hydrocarbons. BTEX was not detected in either the soil or water samples.
Boring B-3 was drilled inside the shop building, northwest of the former diesel dispenser,
with a 2 inch continuous core barrel to a depth of 24 feet. Petroleum odor or
V
discoloration was not encountered in the boring. Low levels of diesel range petroleum
hydrocarbons were detected in laboratory soil samples collected from the 8, 16, and 24
foot depths. A water sample, collected from the boring contained, trace levels of diesel
range petroleum hydrocarbons. BTEX was not detected in either the soil or water
samples.
V
Table of Laboratory Soil Sample Results (12-6-2000)
Sample I.D.
