INTRODUCTION
In accordance with the request of Mr. Nick Bokides of Mel Bokides Petroleum, Advanced
GeoEnvironmental, Inc., (AGE)has prepared this quarterly report for the site located at 983 Moffat
Boulevard,.Manteca, California (site).
The scope of work was to monitor and sample ground water at the site to assess the lateral extent
of petroleum hydrocarbon impact to the ground water. The location of the site is illustrated on Figure
' I. A plan of the site is illustrated on Figure 2.
Background information and results of prior investigations at the site were included in an AGE
' document titled Preliminary Investigation and Evaluation Report(PIER) dated 09 March 1999 and
subsequent quarterly monitoring reports.Quarterly monitoring data from January 2000 to the present
is summarized in Tables I through 3 in this report.
All field work procedures and reporting requirements are in accordance with guidelines established
.by the Central Valley Region of the Regional Water Quality Control Board (CV-RWQCB) and by
ithe San Joaquin County Public Health Services - Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD) for
subsurface investigation of underground storage tank (UST) system sites.
1 2.0. PROCEDURES
' 2.1. GROUNDWATER DEPTH MEASUREMENT AND PURGING
On 23 August 2000, a Solinst water level meter was used to measure the depth to ground water in
' each well relative to the top of the well casing. After ground water depth measurements were
collected, monitoring wells were purged using a pre-cleaned, two-stage submersible pump.
' Nine gallons of water(a minimum of 3 well-volumes)was evacuated from well MW-I and six gallons
of water (3 well-volumes) were evacuated from well MW-2, MW-3 and MW-4. Temperature, pH
' and conductivity of the purged water were measured at regular purge-volume intervals in all wells.
The field data was measured with an ICM model 52200 water analyzer. Logs of the field data are
included in Appendix A. Purged water was stored on-site in labeled 55-gallon drums.
2.2. COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES
' Ground water samples were collected from each well using a new disposable plastic bailer. Each
water sample was transferred into three 40-m1 EPA-approved VOA vials containing 0.5 ml 18%HCl
1 Advanced GeoEnviron mental,Inc.
1
