n
1 {
08 March 2004
i AGE-NC Project No 98-0432
The ground water flow direction was inferred to be towards the northwest, at a gradient of
approximately 0 004 ft/ft near the former UST locations (Figure 3)
32 GROUND WATER ANALYTICAL RESULTS
' TPH-d and BTEX compounds were not detected in the ground water sample collected this quarter
TPH-g was detected in the sample from well MW-I with a concentration of 270 microgram per liter
(pg/1) MTBE was detected in water samples MW-1 and MW-2 at concentrations of 270 µg/1 and
25µg/1,respectively No additional petroleum hydrocarbon compounds were detected in the samples
analyzed Analytical results from ground water samples are summarized in Tables 2 and 3 The
laboratory reports (CTEL Laboratory ID 0402074), quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC)
' reports and chain-of-custody forms are included in Appendix)X
' 4.0 SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
The following conclusions were drawn from the results of this investigation
' Dunng the February 2004 monitoring event, ground water was 2 feet lowefr than the previous
quarterly sampling event, the ground water flow direction was nortli at gradient in the area
' of the former USTs was 0 004 ft/ft ,which was consistent with the prevailing northwesterly
flow direction at the site
' TPH-g was detected only in sample MW-1
• MTBE was detected in samples MW-1 and MW-2 Figure 4 depicts the dissolved MTBE
distribution and further MTBE concentrations in well MW-1 and MW-2 have consistently
' declined since initiation of ground water monitoring at the site
• The dissolved MTBE appeared to be limited to on-site monitoring wells
' 5.0. RECOMMENDATIONS
Based on the results of this investigation, AGE recommends
' • Continuation of quarterly ground water monitoring, the next monitoring event is scheduled
for May 2004
' • If warranted, preparation of remedial action work plan or based on stable dissolved MTBE
concentrations a closure summary report
' Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
