Box 388
Stockton, CA 95201-0388
Subject: Groundwater Monitoring and Sampling at the Former Valley Volkswagen
647 East Miner Ave., Stockton, California (County Site Code 1187)
Dear Mr. Rowe:
Ground Zero Analysis, Inc. (Ground Zero) is submitting this groundwater monitoring and
sampling report for the above referenced site. The location of the site is shown on Figure 1.
Activities included monitoring the water level in well MW1, purging and sampling groundwater
from the well, and analyzing samples for total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg),
benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylenes (BTEX), and methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE). The
location of MW 1 is shown on Figure 2.
On November 14, 1996, the depth to water measured in well MW 1 was 40.32 feet below ground
surface (bgs). Since the last monitoring on July 26, 1996, the groundwater surface has risen
0.29 feet and is now above the top of the well screen. Depth to water data is shown below.
Monitoring logs are included in Attachment A. Regional groundwater flow in the vicinity of
the site is expected to be generally northeasterly away from the Stockton deep water channel and
toward a large pumping depression on the northeast side of Stockton.
Well Date Depth to Water (in feet)
MW1 05/24/95 45.83
07/26/96 40.03
11/14/96 40.32
groundtelva]1ryvwWgnA 996
1
