i
Mr. Ron Rowe
• Page 3
The State of California owns a property at 601 East Miner Street located northwest of the subject
site. Based on information supplied in Versar Inc.'s Environmental Assessment Report (July
3, 1996), this site had a leaking underground fuel tank. It was estimated that approximately
3,200 gallons of gasoline had been released into the soil. In March 1992, three groundwater
monitoring wells were installed and contained free product until at least April 1994. In May
1993, when the three underground storage tanks were removed from the site, a 718-inch hole
was located under the fill port of one tank. Versar Inc. reported that hydrocarbon contamination
in soil was concentrated within a sandy layer approximately 5 to 10 feet thick located between
25 and 35 feet bgs. The lateral extent of hydrocarbons in groundwater resulting from the leak
at 601 E. Miner has not been defined.
Based on this information, Ground Zero does not recommend any further investigation by the
responsible party at this site.
If you have any questions or comments, please contact Ground Zero at your earliest
convenience.
Sincerely,
Ground Zero Analysis, Inc.
ERED G£
0
Jeanne Buckthal
Staf Geologist GREGORY P.
STAHL
No. 5023
Gregory P.
