5 <br /> • 15 December 2000 <br /> AGE-NC Project No 95-0103 <br /> Page 3 of 4 <br /> 6 and monitoring well MW-4 as ground water extraction wells <br /> The proposed drawdown pilot tests will be designed to obtain general aquifer characteristics such <br /> as hydraulic conductivity,transmzssivzty and drawdown at various pumping rates Results of the pilot <br /> test will be utilized to evaluate the feasibility of ground water extraction in conjunction with SVE <br /> to more effectively remediate the impacted media Samples of produced water will be collected at <br /> intervals for laboratory analysis <br /> 24 PROPERLY STORING AND DISPOSING OF PRODUCED GROUND WATER <br /> Ground water produced during the ground water extraction (pumping) tests will be stored on site in <br /> a Baker tank pending proper disposal at a licensed facility <br /> 25 PREPARATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION PLAN <br /> Upon completion of the pilot study, an addendum to the CAP will be prepared presenting the <br /> findings of the pilot study The addendum will present an evaluation of the feasibility and cost- <br /> effectiveness of ground water extraction Conclusions and applicable recommendations will also be <br /> included in the addendum to the CAP The report will be in a format acceptable to the PHS-EHD , <br /> and the RWQCB, and will be reviewed and signed by a California Registered Geologist <br /> 3.0. FIELD PROCEDURES <br /> All field procedures will be overseen by an AGE representative under the supervision of a California <br /> Registered Geologist Procedures for the water elevation point installation and dedicated low-flow <br /> pump installation and test procedures are detailed below <br /> 3 1 PILOT SOIL PROBE BORING <br /> Three soil pilot probe borings will be established at the site to a maximum depth of 30 feet bsg using <br /> a van-mounted Geoprobe 5400 direct-push probing unit equipped with a 2-inch diameter pre-probe <br /> and 1 25-inch probing rods The Geoprobe advances soil probe borings using a hydraulic hammer <br /> to drive soil sampling tools to specified depths <br /> The probe boring will be completed as three temporary ground water depth/elevation monitoring <br /> • points utilizing one-inch diameter schedule 40 polyvinylchloride (PVC)0 01-inch slotted well screen <br /> and blank well casing A 20-foot length of well screen is anticipated for installation of the point <br /> from 10 feet to 30 feet bsg <br />
