---------------------------------——————--———————----- ——————-'——————————————————— -- }
'01/62,,1900 09:46 FROM TO 12694656831 P.64
Mr. Russell Chapin
October 16, 190
Page 4
In our opinioz4 this phase of the investigation would be best performed after {
the results of sample analyses from tank removal are available,so that the P
delineation program can address all known contaminant sources. Roger Foott
Associates, Inc. could submit the Preliminary,Assessment Report within three weeks
of tank removal.
The results of the preliminary assessment investigation would be presented in
a Problem Assessment Report,which will present the data used to indicate the extent
# of contamination,calculated groundwater surface elevation maps,soil stratigraphy
data, preliminary aquifer parameters as necessary to define remedial alternatives,
and a discussion of appropriate remedial alternatives. We would expect that the
Problem Assessment Report would be completed within 3 to b months of approval of
the Preliminary Assessment Report,depending on the extent of contamination and
the need for offsite drilling.
When the Problem Assessment Report is completed and accepted by
regulatory agencies, a Final Remedial Pian(FRP)will be required after appropriate
discussions with regulatory agencies and final field and laboratory tests. The FRP
would present details of the remedial plan (number andlacement of wells,s,
um in
p P g
rate,limits of excavation,vent lines,waste disposal, etc.). A schedule of
implementation would also be presented.
A copy of this work plan should be forwarded to Mr.Harlan Knoll of the San
Joaquin County Public Health Services,Environmental Health Division,Post ice
Box 2009,Stockton,California,95201. r
i
a
i
r
ROGER
FQDTT
