The hand auger will remain on the <br /> visqueen until needed for the next boring. <br /> o The sampling assembly will be lowered to the bottom of . <br /> boring, driven into the soil six inches manually using <br /> ' a slide hammer device, and retrieved. <br /> o The sampling assembly will be'dismantled and the sample <br /> ' recovery will be noted. <br /> o If the amount of sample recovered is not sufficient for <br /> ' the analytical method, the sample personnel will clear <br /> the borehole of obstructions using the hand auger and <br /> resample. If clearing of the hole is not possible, an <br /> alternate sample location as near to the original <br /> ' sample location will be chosen. <br /> o The brass tube will be removed, covered at each end <br /> ' with teflon sheer-ing and plastic end caps, logged, <br /> labeled and placed in ,a resealable plastic bag in a <br /> cooler kept at a temperature of 4 degrees Celsius. <br /> o The sampler will then clean the slide hammer device in <br /> accordance with Section 4.2 Equipment Decontamination <br /> and place the slide hammer device on clean visqueen <br /> ' where the device will remain clean until used again at <br /> the next sample point. <br /> ' 259 <br />
