i <br /> Closure Report 15 <br /> Golden Grain Manteca Bean Facility,299 Moffat Boulevard,Manteca,California July 16,19% <br /> 1 One sod sample each from sod boreholes C1 through C5 and C7 through C10 and four samples from <br /> p 9 9 p <br /> ' soil bon ng C6 were submitted to the laboratory for analysis Thirteen soil samples were submitted to <br /> the laboratory for TPH-g and BTEX analysts by U S Environmental Protection Agency(EPA) <br /> Methods 8015/8020 The laboratory reported concentrations of TPH-g and BTEX were below the <br /> ' respective detection limits for all the samples with the exception of the soil sample collected from <br /> 26 feet below grade in boring C6 The laboratory reported BTEX concentrations of 3,800 <br /> micrograms per kilogram (,ug/kg), 1 1,000ug/kg, 3,500,ug/kg, and 19,000 ug/kg, respectively,were <br /> ' present in the 26-foot sample from C6 The laboratory also reported 220 milligrams per kilogram <br /> (mg/kg) of TPH-g from the same sample Results of the laboratory analysis of soil samples are <br /> summarized in table 3 Copies of the certified laboratory reports and chain-of-custody records are <br /> contained in appendix E Concentrations of BTEX and TPH-g are plotted on the geologic <br /> ' cross-sections <br /> ' 4.1.2 Chemical Analysis of Groundwater Samples <br /> Groundwater samples were collected from soil boreholes C8, C9, and C10 through temporary <br /> monitoring wells The laboratory analysis reported no concentrations of TPH-g and BTEX above the <br /> associated detection limits for the groundwater samples collected from soil boreholes C9 and C10 <br /> The laboratory reported BTEX concentrations for the groundwater samples from soil borehole C8 of <br /> ' 540 ug/L, 900 ug/L, 1,200 uglL, and 8,000 ug/L, respectively A TPH-g level of 34 milligrams per <br /> liter(mg/L) was also reported In the groundwater sample collected from soil boring C8 Results of <br /> ' the laboratory analysis of groundwater samples are summarized in tablcl_�Copies of the certified <br /> laboratory reports and chain-of-custody records are contained in appendix E <br /> 4.9.3 Soil Vapor Extraction Test <br /> ' On April 22 and 23, 1996, a soil vapor extraction test was performed to measure the induced <br /> vacuum at soil cores C4 and C8 versus the distance from the operating vapor extraction wells The <br /> soil vapor extraction system was turned on April 22, 1996, and was operated for approximately 24 <br /> ' hours On April 22 and 23, applied vacuum pressure readings at the four operational vapor <br /> extraction wells (MW-1, MW-2, MW-3, and MW-4) and induced vacuum pressure readings at C4 and <br /> ' C8 were collected to evaluate the extent of Influence of the operating wells Readings were taken <br /> using magnahelic gauges measured in inches of water vacuum <br /> ' After 24 hours of operating the sod vapor extraction system (SVES),the Induced vacuum readings at <br /> C4 and C8 were 0 60 inch and 1 05 inches of water vacuum, respectively The vapor extraction pilot <br /> 42C20213 CR <br /> FLUOR DANIEL GTI <br />
