First Quarter 1996 Status Report 4
Golden Grain Company,Manteca Bean Facility,229 Moffat Boulevard,Manteca,CA March 21, 1996
■ monitoring the condition of the catalytic water conditioner which minimizes fouling caused
by the hardness of the water
■ monitoring the liquid-phase GAC vessels and filters for pressure build up
The groundwater treatment system operated on a continuously from February 16, 1996,through
March 8, 1996 During this quarter of operation, there were no releases of untreated groundwater or
untreated system effluent vapors
i
VAPOR EXTRACTION MONITORING
During this report period, the VES was monitored on March 7, 1996 The Influent and effluent vapor
concentrations were measured for TPH-g using an FID Values measured during the site visit on
March 7, 1996, are shown in table 3
GROUNDWATER TREATMENT SYSTEM MONITORING
A total of 130,831 gallons of water was treated between December 8, 1995 and March 8, 1996 Since
the beginning of operation of the remediation system, approximately 4,451,607 gallons of water has
been extracted and treated
On February 20, 1996, samples were collected from the groundwater treatment system and analyzed
for TPH-g, BTEX, total lead, organic lead, and ethylene dibromide at a California-certified laboratory
Laboratory analytical reports and corresponding chain-of-custody records for the sampling event are
included In attachment 4 Results of system historical analyses are summarized in table 4 Laboratory
results Indicate that all treatment system influent and effluent water constituents analyzed were below
the method detection limit Results of effluent water sample analyses were below the City of Manteca
Public Works Department Industrial Wastewater Discharge Permit(No 92-2) limits
CUMULATIVE REMOVAL OF TPH-G
TPH-g concentrations were detected in vapors removed from the soil by the VES during the visit on
March 7, 1996, but the concentrations ranged from 0 to 1 part per million (ppm) Therefore, no
measurable quantity of hydrocarbons were removed The cumulative amount of hydrocarbons
. removed by VES since start-up is estimated at 3,444 pounds TPH-g concentrations in groundwater
42020213 QSi
GROUNDWATER
 TECHNOLOGY
