' Samples will be analyzed according to the sampling and analysis plan summarized In Table 1 <br /> Each soil and groundwater sample submitted to the laboratory will be analyzed for <br /> Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons (TPH)-as-diesel by Modified EPA Method 8015 <br /> TPH-as-gasoline by Modified EPA Method 8015 <br /> ' BTEX and methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE) by Modified EPA Method 8020 <br /> ' In addition, the soil samples collected at 10 feet bgs from SB-1 and SB-4 will be analyzed for <br /> total lead <br /> 23 Groundwater Monitoring Well Installation <br /> ' Following the analysis of the GeoprobeT"" soil and groundwater grab samples, at least three <br /> groundwater monitoring wells will be installed The exact number, locations and construction of <br /> the proposed monitoring wells will be determined on the basis of the GeoprobeTM soil and <br /> groundwater grab sample results so that the concentration and stability of the Impacted <br /> ' groundwater plume can be monitored using the fewest number of wells <br /> 2 3 1 Monitonnq Well Installation <br /> The wells will be Installed In 8-Inch diameter soil borings drilled by a truck-mounted drill rig <br /> ' equipped with hollow stem augers Each well casing will consist of approximately fifteen (15) <br /> feet of two-Inch diameter, Schedule 40, flush-threaded and machine-slotted (0 020-Inch) <br /> polyvinyl chloride (PVC) well screen The well screen Interval will extend approximately ten feet <br /> ' below and five feet above the groundwater table Blank PVC casing will thread Into the top of <br /> the well screen and extend to the surface The length of the blank casing will depend on the <br /> ' actual depth to the groundwater table In each well, a filter pack of Monterey#3 graded and <br /> washed sand will be placed through the hollow stem augers as they are slowly retrieved and <br /> until the sand pack reaches approximately two (2) feet above the top of the screened Interval <br /> ' Overlying the sand pack, two (2) feet of hydrated bentonite chips will be placed within the <br /> annular space between the borehole and the well casing A surface seal of 20 1 <br /> cement/bentonite grout mixture will be placed over the hydrated bentonite The top of the wells <br /> will be secured with water-tight locking caps and an 8-inch diameter, traffic-rated utility box A <br /> well construction diagram Is presented as Figure 3 <br /> ' Work Plan Environmental Site Investigation Ramage Environmental <br /> • 392 South Moffat Blvd,Manteca California June 18 1997 <br /> ' 6 <br />
