QUARTERLY WELL MONITORING PROCEDURES <br /> ' Monitoring wells MW-1 through MW-10 were sampled on 28 February 2002 in accordance with the <br /> AGE-prepared Preliminary Site Assessment Work Plan, dated 30 November 1998. <br /> 2.2.1. Well Monitoring and Evacuation <br /> A Solinst water level meter was used to measure the depth to ground water in the,five wells relative <br /> to the tops of the well casings.After the depth-to-ground water measurements were collected,casing <br /> water in the monitoring wells were evacuated using.new disposable plastic bailers. Approximately <br /> 7.5.to 8 gallons of water were evacuated from monitoring wells MW-1 through MW-5 and MW-8, <br /> MW-9 and MW-10;approximately 15 gallons ofwater were removed from well MW-6.Well MW-7 <br /> was sampled after 26 gallons of water were removed during the development of the well earlier in <br /> ' the day, equivalent to three casing-water volumes per well. <br /> Temperature, pH and conductivity,were measured at regular intervals,.using an .Oakton water <br /> analyzer to monitor pH, temperature and conductivity of the purged water; the,field data logs are <br /> provided in Appendix C. Purged water was temporarily stored on-site in 55-gallon drums. <br /> 2.2.2. Collection and Analysis of Ground Water Samples <br /> ' Water samples were collected from each purged well with disposable bailers.Each water samp le was <br /> transferred into' laboratory-supplied 40-m1 VOA vials containing 0.5 ml 18% hydrochloric acid as a sample preservative. After collection, the samples were properly labeled, placed in a chilled <br /> container and,transported under chain-of-custody to McCampbell Analytical, Inc. (MAI). The <br /> samples were"analyzed for: <br /> ' TPH-g in accordance with EPA Method 8015M• <br /> • BTEX and MTBE in accordance with EPA,Method 8020; and <br /> Fuel additives TBA,DIPE, ETBE, TAME,MTBE, 1,2-DCA, and EDB in accordance with <br /> EPA Method 8260B. <br />' Advanced GeoEnvironmentai,Inc. <br />
