Item No. _ 3
PC : 8-18-88
SA-88-59
Page 5
The applicant is proposing a five-foot-wide planter adjacent to
the proposed shop and office building. The landscaping should
enhance the aesthetics of the facility and minimize the impact
on the residential neighborhood. Outdoor storage of farm
equipment and materials is proposed immediately south of the
building. To some extent , the building will screen the outdoor
storage, but the area would be visible from the east , west , and
south until the vineyard was planted and achieved some growth.
Therefore, staff is recommending as a condition of approval
that the outdoor storage of materials, with the exception of
motorized equipment , be screened with a six-foot-high solid
fence.
HAZARDS/CONSTRAINTS :
Hazardous Materials:
The applicant has stated that the chemicals to be stored on the
project site are to be used on the applicant ' s vineyard. The
applicant is not a licensed Pest Control Adviser and does not
apply pesticides as part of his farm services business. As a
condition of approval , staff is recommending that no chemicals,
other than for the applicant ' s private use on his own fields,
be stored on-site.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONSIDERATIONS:
An Initial Study was prepared for the project on July 21 , 1988 .
Any potentially significant effects will be mitigated via the
proposed site plan and conditions of approval . Based on the
Initial Study, a Negative Declaration was prepared.
