The soil samples will be examined and
described, the brass sleeves capped with foil and plastic
end caps, sealed with tape, labeled, and placed in an ice
chest for transportation to a certified testing laboratory.
Chain--of-custody forms will be utilized for the field work
and a copy of the laboratory quality assurance/quality
control manual will be supplied with the results.
All borehole equipment that is reused in the boring of the
three monitoring wells will be cleaned between uses with a
three step wash and rinse process using TSP or a similar
industrial cleaner.
At a convenient time after the wells are installed, water
levels will be located using an electric probe type water
and product level locater. The wells will be completed by
bailing- at least 5 casing volumes of the water column
calculated to be standing in the well , using an appropriate
size PVC bailer with a Teflon or similar ball and seat.
