' 10 February 2005 <br /> AGE-NC Project No 98-0521 <br /> Page 4 of 6 <br /> 3 1 GROUND WATER ELEVATION, FLOW DIRECTION AND GRADIENT <br /> On 22 September 2004,the depth to ground water at the site ranged from 7 20 to 9 40 feet below the <br /> tops of the well casings The ground water elevations at the site ranged from 7 29 feet (MW-5) to <br /> 9 02 feet(MW-3)below mean sea level(MSL) The ground water was interpreted to flow southwest <br /> at an approximate gradient of 0 005 foot/foot(ft/ft),well MW-5 was not utilized to determine ground <br /> water gradient and flow because it is a deep-screened well, so its ground water elevations are not <br /> 'representative of shallow water conditions Depths to water and ground water elevations are <br /> summarized in Table 1 Figure 4 illustrates the interpreted ground water elevations <br /> 3 2 ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES <br /> The analytical results of the September 2004 quarterly monitoring event are as follows <br /> • TPH-g was detected in the sample collected from monitoring well MW-4 at a concentration <br /> of 2,500 µg/l <br /> • BTEX constituents were detected in the sample collected from monitoring well MW-4 at <br /> concentrations of 1,900 µg/1 benzene, 20 µg/1 toluene, 60 4g/1 ethylbenzene and 158 µg/1 <br /> total xylenes <br /> ' a MTBE was detected in MW-4 at a concentration of 920 µg/l <br /> TAME was detected in the sample collected from MW-4 at a concentration of 25 lig/1 <br /> ' r les collected during the September 2004 <br /> No other analytes were detected m the ground Ovate samples g p <br /> ' quarterly monitoring event Analytical results from the ground water samples are summarized in <br /> Tables 2 and 3 The laboratory report(CTEL Project No CT214-0409144),quality assurance/quality <br /> control (QA/QC) reports and chain of custody forms are included in Appendix D Documents <br /> ' confirming the upload of laboratory electronic deliverable format (EDF) files and depth to water <br /> measurements to GeoTracker are included in Appendix E The lateral extent of dissolved <br /> contaminants is depicted on Figure 5 <br /> 3 3 GROUND WATER TREATMENT RESULTS <br /> ' The pump-and-treat system was operational between 04 August and 27 September 2004 Total flow <br /> (totalizer) was measured utilizing the Blue-White Industries F-2000 flow meter From full system <br /> start in August to the September sampling of the remediation system,the flow meter recorded a total <br /> volume of 66,760 gallons or 253,020 liters of discharged water(see field sheets in Appendix B) <br /> i <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc <br />
