10 10 February 2005
AGE-NC Project No 98-0521
3 3 1 Analytical Results of Extraction Water Samples
Thefollowing is a summary of the detected concentrations
ary
i0 06 August An influent sample was collected at a sample port before entering the remediation
system TPH-g was detected at,a concentration of 450 µg/1 Xylenes were detected at a
concentration of 17 1 µg11 MTBE was detected at a concentration of 48 µg11
' 0 15 September An influent sample was collected at a sample port before entering the
remediation system TPH-g was detected at a concentration of 200µg11 MTBE was detected
' at a concentration of 190 llg/l
' No analytes of concern were detected at or above laboratory reporting limits in the collected effluent
ground water treatment samples Analytical results from the ground water extraction samples are
summarized in Table 5 The laboratory reports(CTEL Project Nos CT214-0408054 and-0409097),
' QA/QC reports and chain of custody form are provided in Appendix F GeoTracker confirmation
pages of the submitted laboratory electronic deliverable format (EDF) files are included in
li Appendix E
3 3 2 Mass-Volume Removal Calculations
' During the third quarter of 2004, an estimated 0 18 lbs of TPH-g and 0 065 lbs of MTBE were
extracted from ground water at the peripheral extraction well MW-2 The volumetric calculations
' from the ground water pump-and-treat system are presented in Appendix G
' 4.0. SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
' The following conclusions were drawn from the results of the third quarter 2004 investigation
• Ground water at the site was encountered at approximately 8 5 feet bsg The interpreted
ground water flow direction at the site was southwest with an approximate gradient of
0 005 ft/ft, however, without depth to water measurements from well MW-2, which is
currently utilized as an extraction well, there is insufficient well spacing to accurately define
' the ground water gradient and flow direction
• TPH-g, MTBE, BTEX constituents and TAME were detected in the ground water sample
collected from well MW-4,the concentrations of benzene and MTBE were above the DHS'
Primary Maximum Contaminant Levels (MCLs) of 10 [,g/1 and 13 gg/l in drinking water,
. respectively
' Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
