• MACHADO PROPERTY Page 3
WKA No. 6078.02
November 1, 2004
FINDINGS
Site Description
The subject property is located approximately one mile east of the Alameda County boundary line,
in San Joaquin County, California. The property lies within a predominantly agricultural area
west of Mountain House Parkway (Plate 2). The square-shaped property consists of
approximately 148 acres of agricultural land and has San Joaquin County Assessor's Parcel
Numbers (APNs)209-060-008 (Plate 3). The property is currently a combination of hay crop land
and an active dairy.
The cover page of this report contains a color photograph, which is a southeasterly view of the
subject property, taken from the northwestern corner of the property. Additional color
photography of the property is included on Plate 6.
• A majority of the property consists of hay crop land. An active dairy is located on the eastern
portion of the property. A total of three single-family mobile homes, all associated with the dairy
are located to the north of the main dairy operation. One domestic well is located south of the
cluster of mobile homes. Although we could not find its buried location,it is reasonable to
presume that the mobile home sites likewise operate with private septic systems and leachfields.
The main milking operation is located on the northern portion of the dairy. The milking barn is
located just south of the residences. To the north and northwest of the dairy operation are
agricultural tail water and wastewater ponds (Plate 6). The wastewater ponds are plumbed and
sized such that dairy wastewater does not leave the subject property. The wastewater ponds
represent a"closed loop" aerobic and anaerobic treatment process for the dairy wastewater.
Subsequent to treatment, the wastewater is"lift-pumped"onto the irrigated fields of the subject
property.
The subject property contains no obvious current or historical evidence of USTs,UST fueling
islands, fill ports, vent pipes, oil/water separators, dry cleaning facilities, steam cleaners, steam
cleaning washpads, drainage inlets, hydraulic lifts, sumps, oil/water separators, waste drums, raw
• materials storage areas or impounds, disposal pits, or agricultural burn or scrap piles.
WALLACE•KUHL
