' 08 November 2004
. AGE-NC-99-0570
3 1 GROUND WATER ELEVATION AND GRADIENT
The depth to ground water ranged from 15 34 feet below well casing grade in well MW-3 to
I 16 72 feet below well casing grade in well MW-5 (Table 1) The relative ground water elevation
ranged from 9 61 to 12 40 feet below mean sea level (MSL) The top of the ground water table 4
occurred within the screened intervals of the wells Ground water was inferred to be flowing to the
northwest at a significant hydraulic gradient of approximately 0 03 foot/foot(fl/ft) The ground water
elevation contours are depicted on Figure 3
I3 2 ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES
TPH-g was detected in samples MW-1 and MW-2 at concentrations of 240 micrograms per liter
(gg/1) and 220 gg/l, respectively TPH-d was not detected in any of the samples analyzed
BTEX compounds were detected in wells MW-1 and MW-2 at concentrations of 16 gg/l and 5 2µg/1
ethylbenzene, and 22 pg/1 and 2 9 gg/l xylenes, respectively r
' . No other target analytes were detected at or above laboratory reporting limits in any of the samples
analyzed Laboratory results of water samples are summarized in Table 2 The laboratory reports
(CTEL Prod ect No CT214-0410167),quality assurance/quality control(QA/QC)reports,and chain
of custody forms are included in Appendix D Documents confirming the upload of laboratory
electronic deliverable format (EDF) files and depth to water measurements to GeoTracker are
included in Appendix E
4.0 SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
Based on the results of the October 2004 monitoring event,AGE draws the following conclusions
• Ground water flow direction was towards the northwest from the former dispenser area at
a hydraulic gradient of 0 030 ft/ft This flow direction and gradient are similar to previous
monitoring events -
• MTBE was not detected in any of the ground water samples analyzed
• TPH-g was detected in monitoring wells MW-1 and MW-2 at concentrations of 240 gg/l and
220 jig/I, respectively
• In the fourth quarter 2004,TPH-g,BTEX,and MTBE decreased significantly in well MW-2
r
•
Advanced GeoEnviron mental,Inc
I
