THE <br /> MARK <br /> In ribGROUP, INC. <br /> ENGINEERS & GEOLOGISTS <br /> August 16, 1994 <br /> 92-1177103 80 <br />' NORCAL Waste Systems, Inc <br /> 5 Thomas Mellon Circle <br /> San Francisco, CA 94134 <br /> 1 Attention Mr Larry Sweetser, Director of Regulatory Affairs <br /> Subject REPORT - Quarterly Groundwater Monitormg - July 1994 <br /> Stockton Scavenger Association Facility <br /> 1240 Navy Drive <br /> Stockton, California <br /> Dear Mr Sweetser <br /> The MARK Group, Inc (MARK) has completed the July 1994 quarterly groundwater <br /> monitoring for the Stockton Scavenger Association (SSA) Facility located at 1240 Navy Drive, <br />' Stockton, California Monitoring was performed according to the Central Valley Regional <br /> Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB) guidelines <br /> The investigation showed that groundwater continues to flow northeast and that ongoing <br /> + pumping at monitoring well MW-2 apparently has not altered groundwater flow patterns at the <br /> site Further, analytical data shows no significant change in groundwater quality from the <br /> previous monitonng period The site location is shown in Drawing 1 <br /> Groundwater Sampling <br />' On July 19, 1994, MARK staff recorded water level measurements, then purged and <br /> sampled groundwater monitoring wells MW-1, MW-2, MW-3, and MW-4 Well locations are <br /> shown in Drawing 2 <br /> Static water levels in the monitoring wells were measured using an electronic sounder-tape <br />' within a one hour period prior to purging the wells The data was used in interpreting the <br /> potentiometnc groundwater surface at the site Water level measurements for the current <br /> monitoring period and previous rounds are presented in Table 1 A copy of the recent water <br /> level measurement form is attached to this letter <br /> The monitoring wells were purged before the collection of groundwater samples to ensure <br />' that representative formation groundwater was sampled A minimum of three casing volumes <br /> of groundwater was removed from the wells Field water quality parameters (pH, temperature, <br /> and specific conductance) were measured until they stabilized An additional casing volume of <br /> ' groundwater was purged after sampling in accordance with California Code of Regulations <br /> Chapter 15 post-purging requirements Purged groundwater was pumped into a Baker tank for <br /> temporary storage prior to being treated by the onsite groundwater treatment system Copies <br /> of the purging/sampling forms are attached Also attached are copies of the purging/sampling <br /> ' Hookston Square, Suite 120 3480 Buskirk Avenue - Pleasant Hill, CA 94523 - (510) 946-1055 - FAX (510) 946-9813 <br />
