9 ' d _1d L <br /> ` ISSUE NO.6 <br /> May the contractor dispose of liquid collected from the itching <br /> xoom sump directly to the storm sewer? <br /> WCC RESPONSE: <br /> Any liquid collected from the Etching Sump, Walkway, or the <br /> Chemical Storage Yard during the remediation shall be collected in <br /> 55 gallon drums, a tanker truck, or a Baker tank. Prior to any <br /> disposal the contractor shall have the water analyzed for <br /> Acceptance at the local treatment plant. <br /> In the unlikely event the water is not accepted for disposal at <br /> the POTW, the contractor will transport it to the Lika plant at <br /> 1443 Navy Drive for treatment and disposal by Lika. <br /> ISSUE NO.7 <br /> i Concern has been expressed regarding the pricing structure in ITEM <br /> I 2 - PRICE PROPOSAL FOR SUPPLEMENTAL AND REDUCED WORK of the <br /> Contract Documents. The Contract Documents give no indication of <br /> the range over which the unit rate for soil excavation is to apply. <br /> WCC RESPONSE; <br /> Relative to the specified 480 cubic yards of soil to be excavated <br /> the range of soil volume subject to unit pricing ranges from -50 <br /> to +500 cubic yards. Prices for excavation of soil volumes outside <br /> this range will be subject to negotiation. <br /> ISSUE NO. 8 <br /> Has the existing structure been certified as clean; is all <br /> r <br /> demolition debris considered non-hazardous? <br /> WCC RESPONSE: <br /> The existing building does have concrete that is NOT clean and <br /> therefore some demolition waste may be classified as hazardous. <br /> Concrete from the Etching Room Sump is contaminated with metals as <br /> is -the concrete Walkway, and portions of they asphalt in the <br /> Chemical Storage Yazd. In the event of complete building <br /> demolition, additional hazardous waste may be generated.
