Limited Environmental Investigation May 21, 1990
Proposed Unocal Station, Stockton, California AGS 30010-1
Soil samples from the borings were selected for laboratory analysis. The geologist initiated
Chain of Custody Records which accompanied the samples to the analytical laboratories.
Copies of these documents are in Appendix A.
The borings were backfilled to the ground surface with a bentonite-cement slurry. Cuttings
generated during drilling were covered with plastic and left at the site.
INFORMATION SEARCH
With the authorization of Unocal, we subcontracted an Information Search to
Environmental Audit and Toxic Search (EATS) of Sacramento, California. A copy of the
Information Search, dated April 23, 1990, is submitted under separate cover with this
report; summary pages are presented in Appendix A.
The Information Search indicates the property on the southeast corner of the intersection
was formerly the Weber Ranch Unit No. 1 (Weber Ranch). The Information Search
documents previous property owners back to 1964, recorded leases and mineral ownerships
for the Weber Ranch. In a telephone interview with EATS, Mr. Jim Watanabe, a Weber
Ranch farmer, stated the ranch land has been farmed for approximately 15 years. Mr.
Watanabe stated he is not aware of any pesticide or herbicide spills on the property.
Telephone interviews conducted by EATS with a representative of John Taylor Fertilizer
6
App/Zed GOOSysteinS
