The scope of work was presented <br /> in the March 10, 1995, Workplan for Piezometer and Monitoring Well Decommissioning <br /> and Replacement of Monitoring Well Pair PS/WC-2s,m and included the following tasks: <br /> • Decommissioning 1-inch diameter piezometers <br /> • Decommissioning 4-inch diameter monitoring wells <br /> • Replacing well pair PS/WC-2s,m <br /> Prior to conducting decommissioning and well replacement activities, EMCON obtained <br /> applicable permits from the San Joaquin County Department of Environmental Health <br /> (SJCDEH). Details are presented in the following sections. <br /> PIEZOMETER DECOMMISSIONING ACTIVITIES <br /> Twenty one one-inch diameter piezometers with limited application to site monitoring and <br /> remediation were decommissioned. Piezometers P-1 through P-9 and P-14, P-16, and P-17 <br /> were decommissioned by drilling out the surface seal and casing to 10 feet below ground <br /> surface using 8-inch diameter hollow-stem auger drilling equipment and sealing the borings <br /> with cement grout containing 5 percent bentonite. Piezometers P-18 through P-20, P-22, <br /> P-24, P-25, P-27, and P-28 were decommissioned by pulling the surface seal and casing <br /> SA(.�N:V'JftC4Z\OC1420012.3 C1-95Wnp:1 <br />
