Mr. Philip Isorena Proposal P93-040.31
July 12, 1993
Page 8
Task 8. Laboratory Analyses
All groundwater samples collected during field screening and from monitoring wells will
be labeled, recorded on chain-of-custody documents, and submitted to a state certified
analytical laboratory. Samples will be analyzed for the following parameters:
TPHG by U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Method 8020
Benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and total xylenes (BTEX) by EPA Method
8020
TPHD by EPA Method 8015 Modified (field screening with HydroPunch,
BAT volumes are insufficient)
Dissolved lead by EPA Method 7421
Task 9. Biodegradation Assessment
The objectives of the biodegradation assessment are to evaluate current environmental
conditions and potential enhancement techniques for biodegradation. Current
environmental conditions related to biodegradation will be evaluated by analyzing
groundwater samples for important biological parameters. Groundwater samples will be
collected from six A-zone and two B-zone monitoring wells distributed throughout the
facilities. Groundwater samples from A-zone wells for the biodegradation study include
upgradient well TO/WC-1S and downgradient wells TS-9, ST/MW-1, PS/WC-4S,
PS/WC-2S, and AR/MW-IIA. Groundwater samples from B-zone wells for the
biodegradation study include upgradient well PS/MW-1M and downgradient well
PS/WCAM. All of the proposed wells are included in the quarterly groundwater
monitoring program. Samples for the biodegradation study will be collected during the
first quarterly sampling event following approval of this workplan.
Samples will be analyzed for the following parameters:
pH
Nitrate-nitrogen
Ammonia nitrogen
Orthophosphate
Total organic carbon
Dissolved oxygen
Carbonate bicarbonate
SAGPRMM30403 Lbc-93 lmc:5
