Project No. 8753009Q*NO2
Wbopward•C9yde Consultan
i
° Indications of surface petroleum hydrocarbons were noted along
Stork Road, immediately north of the Learner Lease (metal
recycling operation) ; and
° Traffic covers and cuttings suggestive of monitoring well instal-
lation were observed inside the western portion of the ARCO
site.
In addition, a sewage-sludge/dredge-spoil area was noted located west of
Navy Drive. The sewage-sludge area was nearly full and water was
ponded at an elevation about 30 feet above the grade of Navy Drive.
SCOPE OF WORK
Based on information obtained during the preliminary site visit, a scope of
work to investigate groundwater in the petroleum storage and handling
terminal area of the Port of Stockton was developed. A phased evaluation
was suggested. Phase I (the subject of this report) entailed an evaluation
of the hydrologic setting and site history. The tasks associated with the
Phase I evaluation included:
Task 1 WCC Health and Safety Plan
Task 2 Review of Background Information
Task 3 Hydrologic Field Investigation
Task 4 Preliminary Analysis
Task 5 Summary Report
WCC HEALTH AND SAFETY PLAN
A site-specific health and safety plan was prepared to cover activities
associated with the installation of piezometers at the tank terminal area of
the Port of Stockton. The health and safety plan is a means of planning
for potential risks to personnel associated with exposure to hazardous
{ materials.
iI
4
-2-
RI/MKS3X
