LFR Inc.
2.2 Approach
Two monitoring well borings will be advanced in the vicinity of SP/M-9, one to the
C-zone groundwater interval (approximately 50 to 60 feet below ground surface [bgs])
and the second to the B-zone groundwater interval (approximately 25 to 30 feet bgs;
Figure 2). The C-zone boring will be advanced first to establish lithologic conditions
within the proposed well installation area. Monitoring wells will be constructed in each
boring to assess for the presence of petroleum hydrocarbons in the B- and C-zone
groundwater intervals.
3.0 SCOPE OF WORK
The following scope of work is proposed to achieve the objective presented in
Section 2.0.
3.1 Pre-Field Activities
The following activities will be conducted before field activities commence:
Access Agreements
Upon approval of this Work Plan from the RWQCB and before conducting the field
activities, LFR will contact the current owners of the properties where the wells are
proposed. SFPP will then begin negotiations with these property owners in an attempt
to gain access to implement the proposed investigation. It is unknown how long it will
take to complete these access agreement activities. SFPP will keep the RWQCB
informed regarding the progress of obtaining access agreements for this investigation.
Drilling Permits
After all access agreements have been obtained, permits required to install the
groundwater monitoring wells will be obtained from the SJCEHD.
Utility Clearance
The state underground utility notification authority (Dig Alert - www.digalert.org) will
be contacted prior to the start of intrusive field activities in accordance with local
notification requirements. In addition, a private utility locator will be contracted and
available site plans will be reviewed to assess for locations of potential underground
utilities (e.g., pipes, electrical conductors, fuel lines, and/or sewer lines) before
intrusive work is performed. Each boring location will also be advanced to a depth of 5
feet bgs using either an air-knife tool or hand-augering methods to ensure clearance of
utilities.
Page 2 wp-Stockton-2009 Be Zone Well Install FINALAoc
