Y
Shell Oil Company
f E B ?_ 2 11,93 511
Box 4848
511 N.Brookhurst Street
€M1RONNIPNITAL HEALTH Anaheim,California 92803
February 18, 1993
Mr. Philip Isorena
California Regional Water Quality Control Board
Central Valley Region
3443 Routier Rd, Suite A
Sacramento, CA 95827-3098
RE: SITE INVESTIGATION
SHELL OIL CO. - STOCKTON DISTRIBUTION TERMINAL
3515 NAVY DR. , STOCKTON, CA.
Dear Mr. Isorena:
This letter is written to update you on our progress at
Shell' s Stockton Terminal. An access agreement with the
U. S. Navy for the off-site assessment has been completed.
Per our previous agreement find attached a letter from
Harding Lawson Associates, dated 2/2/93 , outlining the work
schedule and location of the deep well.
Installation of the two additional extraction pumps began on
2/15 and should be completed by 2/23 . This brings the
extraction pump network to three and achieves hydraulic
containment of the impacted groundwater within Shell' s
property line.
We have also been notified by Ms. Pat Leary of the RWQCB that
a draft copy of the NPDES permit has been completed and is
being forwarded to Shell for review. It is imperative that
the NPDES permit process be completed within the next few
months as we are running out of space to store the extracted
groundwater.
If you have any questions or comments please contact me at
(714) 520-3389.
Very Yours,
W l /3' rt-,
C.
