' S E C 0 R <br />' + Mr Harlin Knoll <br /> December 8, 2004 <br />' Page 2 <br />' Permitting <br /> All applicable well destruction permits will be obtained from the San Joaquin County Environmental <br />' Health Division (County), prior to commencing field work <br /> Groundwater Monitoring Well Destruction <br />' Three groundwater monitoring wells will be destroyed in accordance with San Joaquin County <br /> requirements and with Bulletin 74-90 California Well Standards, California Department of Water <br />' Resources, June 1991 The wells will be destroyed by drilling out and removing all material within <br /> the original borehole including the well casing, screen, filter pack, and annular seal to the total depth <br /> of the well A centralizing plug with a cold-role steel stinger will be used to keep the augers centered <br /> on the wells The boreholes will then be grouted from the bottom of the borehole to the surface <br />' using a tremae pipe and cement-bentonite grout The boreholes will then be completed to grade with <br /> a material matching the existing surface SECOR will oversee the destruction <br /> Soil Stockpiling and Sampling <br /> Soil cuttings generated during drilling operations will be temporarily stored onsite on and covered <br />' with plastic sheeting pending characterization and disposal Soil cuttings will be removed by <br /> Chevron's disposal contractor to an appropriate disposal facility Water generated during steam <br /> cleaning, and sampling of the borings will be temporarily stored in DOT-approved 55-gallon drums <br />' pending transport by Chevron's disposal contractor to an appropriate disposal or treatment facility <br /> Laboratory Analysis <br />' Selected soil samples collected will be analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline <br /> (TPHg) by EPA Method 8015, and benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene, total xylenes (BTEX), methyl <br /> tertiary butyl ether (MtBE), tertiary butyl alcohol (TBA), di-isopropyl ether (DIPE), ethyl tertiary butyl <br /> ether (EtBE), tertiary amyl methyl ether (TAME), 1,2-dichlorothene (1,2-DCA), and ethylene <br /> dibromide (EDB) by EPA Method 8260 and total lead by EPA Method 6010 <br /> I <br />
