To the east/southeast, was a manufacturing <br /> facility (the magnesium plant) with surface disposal of material. <br /> By 1985,the site has been developed with five of the existing buildings. Some small sheds <br /> or other structures were located near the center of the site. Surrounding properties were the <br /> relatively unchanged from 1979. In 1990,the truck wash pad was present and a number of objects, <br /> possibly drums, were stored along the north side of the property to the west of the truck wash. <br /> Activity on the adjacent property to the north of the site appeared to be similar to the current Proler <br /> operation. Four <br /> surface soil samples were collected and analyzed for organochlorine pesticides. DDE, a breakdown <br /> product of the pesticide DDT,was detected at concentrations ranging from 1.4 to 8.9 parts per billion <br /> (ppb).
