Nolte and Associates, Inc. • •MONITORING WELLS <br /> Drill rigs shall have the ability to lift and land anticipated casing loads without the use of float <br /> plugs or similar devices. <br /> Contractor shall employ competent workmen for project execution. Contractor shall designate <br /> one person, who shall have full decision making authority, to be his representative on the jobsite <br /> on a daily basis. This person shall serve as Drilling Superintendent and his phone number shall <br /> be given the Engineer for emergency notification. <br /> 1.03 WELL DRILLING CONTRACTOR'S QUALIFICATIONS <br /> Contractor shall hold a valid Class C-57 California Contractor's License. <br /> 1.04 PERFORMANCE OF WORK <br /> Should a borehole be lost due to fault of the Contractor, that well shall be abandoned and <br /> another borehole constructed in the immediate area. New drilling sites shall be approved by the <br /> Owner prior to drill setup. Cost of extending substitute boreholes to the depth and status of lost <br /> borehole will not be considered for payment. If loss of the borehole was not due to Contractor <br /> error, the Owner's Representative will designate a new location and provide additional payment <br /> for the substitute borehole. <br /> 1.05 PROTECTION OF WORK <br /> Contractor shall provide means of protecting the well bore and casing assemblies, when <br /> installed, from entrance of foreign objects. It is anticipated that nuisance water, such as rainfall <br /> runoff or construction water from other construction activities may occur within the construction <br /> site and the Contractor shall protect the work from damage and take all measures necessary to <br /> prevent delays. <br /> 1.06 UTILITIES <br /> A. Water <br /> Contractor shall be responsible for obtaining water for drilling. Piping or hauling water to drill <br /> sites shall be at the Contractors' expense. Contractor is cautioned that other construction activity <br /> may occur in the area and the Contractor shall coordinate his activities with others. <br /> B. Electricity <br /> Contractor shall provide independent power units for operations that require electricity. <br /> 1.07 PERMITS, CERTIFICATES, LAWS, AND ORDINANCES <br /> The Contractor shall, as part of the bid price, procure all permits, certificates, and licenses <br /> required of him by law for the execution of his work. He shall comply with all State and local <br /> laws, ordinances, rules and regulations relating to the performance of the work, and shall file all <br /> reports as required by the State and local agencies in connection with the well drilling. Copies of <br /> all reports shall be sent to the Engineer. <br /> 2 <br />
