in <br /> File No 20-3941-01 E01 KLEINFELDER <br /> August 20, 1996 <br /> b CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS <br /> Kleinfelder conducted this limitedu <br /> s bsurface investigation of the Highway 120/McHenry <br /> 1 Avenue Improvement Project to evaluate the presence of selected contaminants at the depths and <br /> locations specified by CALTRANS A total of ninety-eight (98) soil samples were collected <br /> from borings B-l through B-24 for lithology logging purposes, field screening and for potential <br /> chemical analysis Sixty-two (62) of the samples obtained were analyzed for selected chemical <br /> constituents Nineteen borings (19) were advance from surface grade to approximately 11'IZ feet <br /> bsg, Three soil borings were advanced at an EZ Gas Mini-Mart to an approximately depth of <br /> 200 feet bsg rwo borings were advanced to a depth of 55 feet bsg at the former Matt's Texaco <br /> Additionally, soli samples weie obtained from selected borings for geotechnical analyses <br /> ' 61 GENERAL CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS <br /> Based on the results of the subsurface assessment, Kleinfelder has the following general <br /> recommendations <br /> 1 The equipment decontamination rinseate and drilling returns (soil) should be properly <br /> disposed of Kleinfelder can assist in that disposal at an additional charge if <br /> requested <br /> 2 A copy of this report should be submitted to the County of San Joaquin Public Health <br /> ' Services Department Environmental Health Division and the State of California <br /> Regional Water Quality Control Board by the City of Escalon for their review and <br /> consideration This report and the conclusions and recommendations presented are <br /> ' subjected to the "Limitations" presented in Chapter 7 of this report <br /> 3 Because Kleinfelder's scope of services were limited in nature, the City of Escalon must <br /> realize that contamination may also exist in areas not investigated In the event that <br /> discolored soil, contaminant odors, or other environmental concerns are encountered <br /> ' during demolition or earthwork, our office should be notified immediately This report <br /> and the conclusions and the recommendations presented are subjected to the "Limitations" <br /> presented in Chapter 7 of this report <br /> Ile <br /> 1 <br /> 20-3941-01 E011AIR960163 Page 15 of21 01996,Kleinfelder Inc <br />
