She stated that she and her neighbors had some
questions regarding their water and the water that is used at Podesto's Market in Lincoln Village
Center. She stated that she had just received a fact sheet in the mail and she wanted to know
where the water was coming from and if it was contaminated. I assured her that the water was
safe and that I would find out where the water was coming from and call her back. She said that
the best time to reach her was in the morning before 12:00 PM.
The following is a series of telephone calls made in order to answer her questions:
June 14, 1996
Contacted the San Joaquin County Municipal Utilities at (209) 468-3090 and spoke to Shelly
Dorgan who stated that Jean Francis was supplied by the City of Stockton Department of
Municipal Utilities.
Contacted the City of Stockton Department of Municipal Utilities at (209) 937-8341 and Elena
transferred me to Raphael Rodriquez who stated that the nearest wells to Jean Francis were at
Inglewood and at Leslie both between El Dorado and Pacific. I then asked about Lincoln Village
Center, Podesto's, and was informed that water is supplied by Lincoln Village Maintenance
District. When I inquired about when these wells were last sampled I was transferred to Larry
Huber, City of Stockton laboratory, who stated that the well at Inglewood was last sampled in
12/95 and at Leslie in 3/96 and no chlorinated hydrocarbons contamination were detected. Larry
stated that the wells were sampled periodically and would next be sampled for chlorinated
hydrocarbons in 1998 pursuant to Title 22 requirements. He indicated that Ed Formosa at (209)
937-8701 would be the City of Stockton contact regarding any additional sampling of wells in
the area.
Discussed the site with Margaret Lagorio.
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services
