Levine-Fricke-Recon
ENGINEERS,HVDROGEOLOGISTS&APPLIED SCIENTISTS
Three CPT/PIPP boring locations are proposed on the Subject Property as presented on Figure 1.
The CPT/PIPP borings will be advanced to approximately 75 to 80 feet below ground surface
(bgs). Groundwater samples will be collected for subsequent laboratory analysis. Additional
CPT/PIPP borings may be required depending on the results of initial field work.
Before field activities are conducted on the Subject Property, any buried utilities that are present in
the parking lot in the vicinity of the proposed CPT/PIPP will be located and marked on the asphalt
to prevent any contact with utilities during drilling. At the end of each work shift, any waste
materials generated during the field activities will be removed and the work area will be cleaned.
The CPT/PIPP borings will be backfilled with a cement-grout mixture when drilling is completed.
Upon completion of this field work, the asphalt surface surrounding these borings will be restored
to its original condition.
Field Equipment
Field equipment for the CPT/PIPP investigation will consist of a drilling rig and support vehicles.
Two photographs of CPT/PIPP equipment used at a nearby location are presented in Figure 2. The
work space at each location will be approximately 50 feet by 50 feet, covering an area of
approximately 2,500 square feet. The work space will be cordoned off during the drilling period to
prohibit access by unauthorized personnel. Vehicles will be moved off the Subject Property at the
end of each work shift. LPL representatives may also be in attendance to oversee field activities.
Field Personnel
Donald T. Bradshaw, R.G., Site Project Manager, oversees all aspects of the investigation,
monitoring, and testing at the Lincoln Center site and can be contacted at (510) 596-9559.
Christopher Alger, Senior Engineering Geologist, is responsible for supervising the field personnel
conducting the CPT/PIPP investigation and can be contacted at (510) 596-9683.
Schedule
We would like to schedule this field activity for the week beginning June 16, 1997. To minimize
disruption to Mr. Parks and his Chevron customers, and any other shoppers at Lincoln Center,
field activities will be conducted between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. We estimated that
we will need two to three evenings to complete this work.
In accordance with the terms of the Access Agreement, we will need permission to conduct
these proposed field activities by June 13, 1997, to begin the field work on June 16, 1997.
Before LFR can perform the work, we must obtain well permits from the San Joaquin County
Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division (SJC PHS/EHD). To issue the permit, the
SJC PHS/EHD must have written permission from the property owner and tenant to conduct the
work on the Subject Property. Therefore, please sign the acknowledgment in the space indicated,
LC-ACC24.CHV:JBA 2
