• Levine-Fricke-Recon
Section:2
Date Initiated:September 23, 1996
' Revision No.: 1
Date Revised:August 21, 1998
' 2.0 SITE CHARACTERISTICS
Lincoln Center is an existing active shopping center occupying approximately 30 acres
' in Stockton, California. Lincoln Center is bounded on the east by Pacific Avenue, on
the west by Gettysburg Avenue, on the south by Douglas Avenue, and on the north by
Lincoln Elementary School. Benjamin Holt Drive bisects Lincoln Center, running from
' west to east.
The Permanent Injunction(Appendix G to the RI/FS Work Plan) and First Final
' Consent Decree (Appendix H to the RI/FS Work Plan) define "the Site" as "Lincoln
Center and the surrounding area where the Hazardous Substances, including
tetrachloroethene (PCE), trichloroethene (TCE), 1,2-dichloroethene (1,2-DCE), and
' vinyl chloride have been released, have come to be located, or threaten to be released
from the Settling Dry Cleaning Defendants' facilities at Lincoln Center."
Two gasoline stations, currently operating at or near Lincoln Center as Chevron and
Exxon stations, have histories of underground storage and/or line leakage. Previous
investigations have detected gasoline components in samples collected from these
' locations.
A detailed description of the site history, previous investigations, and potential
contaminant distribution is presented in detail in Section 2 of the RI/FS Work Plan.
The media, contaminants of interest, and work descriptions to this HSP are
summarized in the following sections.
1
1
' RIFSWP-AppF-ReY1-041 II:SRL Page F-3
