• Section 10-1 0nstruction Details
Standard Specifications Section 14 Special
Page 6 of 7
perforated over the specified intervals. The corresponding linear
feet of well and casing diameter (s) are provided in parentheses.
Well Perforated intervals bots
LVMD1 80 ' to 102' (22 linear feet of well, 12- and 14-
inch diameter) and 102 ' to 164 ' (62 linear feet,
12-inch diameter)
LVMD2 80' to 128 ' (48 linear feet of well, 14-inch
diameter) and 128' to 160' (or maximum depth after
well preparation) (approximately 32 linear feet of
well; 12-inch diameter)
LVMD4 0' to 130' (130 linear feet of well, 10-inch
diameter)
LVMD6 40' to 210' (170 linear feet of well, 14-inch
diameter)
The length of well perforation to be paid for by the linear
foot will be the length of the casing being perforated, measured
parallel to the longitudinal axis of the well. This length will be
the payment length regardless of whether the casing being
perforated is single or double.
The contract price paid for well perforation shall include
full compensation for furnishing all labor, materials, tools,
equipment, and incidentals, and for doing all the work involved in
completion of well perforation as described above.
14-2. 3 SURFACE PREPARATION
A hole shall be excavated around the well casing, and the
casing shall be cut off 5 feet bgs to allow grout to spill over
into the excavation to form a cap. The Contractor may, at his
option, perform the excavation and casing cutting operations after
completion of well grouting. If this option is followed, then grout
level will be held to about 7 feet bgs to allow for the remainder
to be filled and the required cap to be formed.
The contract price paid for surface preparation shall include
full compensation for furnishing all labor, materials, tools,
equipment, and incidentals, and for doing all the work involved in
providing and removing adequate sheeting, shoring, bracing, sloping
or equivalent method for workers' protection, as specified in the
Standard Specifications, these Special Provisions, and as directed
by the Engineer.
14-2 .4 GROUTING
Each well shall be grout sealed under a pressure of 50 psi and
measured using a pressure gage with a minimum range of 0 to 100 psi
mounted on a temporary well cap at the top of the severed casing.
6691WEMSECnON.14
