Based on this
information, SJCEHD will require these two analytes to be included in the quarterly ground water sampling
and analyses for this site. Methanol may be discontinued.
TOC again requested not to sample for soluble lead in the ground water samples based on historical soil
sample data from 1991 and 1995 where lead was not detected at concentrations of concern. SJCEHD
could not find any ground water sample data for soluble lead and reiterates its requirement to obtain
ground water soluble lead sample data. Once a baseline point has been established for the presence or
not of soluble lead in the ground water, SJCEHD will allow a modification or discontinuance of this
sampling requirement.
TOC has agreed to sample and analyze for soluble lead if required by SJCEHD but limited it only to MW-
11. As a compromise to this request, SJCEHD will allow only MW-11 to be sampled and analyzed at this
time. If detectable amounts of lead are noted in MW-11, under approved detection limits and QA/QC,
SJCEHD will require additional wells to be sampled for lead to determine the lateral and vertical extent.
You may contact Michael Infurna at (209)468-3454 during normal working hours should you have any
questions.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental
Heaalth D'vision
da
Michael J.
