• 14 June 2004
AGE-NC Project No 98-0540
• Ground water in the area of wells MW-1 (former UST) and MW-3 (immediately down-
gradient of former UST) is impacted by detectable concentrations of dissolved petroleum
hydrocarbons, the vertical and lateral extent of impacted ground water has not been fully
delineated
• TPH-g, ethylbenzene and xylenes were detected above laboratory reporting limits from two
off-site domestic wells when sampled on 20 November 2003,however,target analytes were
not detected in three subsequent samples of these wells Due to the lack of detection in
subsequent sampling events,AGE believes that the contamination in the initial samples may
have been due to sampling or analytical errors
5.0. RECOMMENDATIONS
Based upon data collected from the site, AGE recommends
• Continued ground water monitoring The next quarterly monitoring event is tentatively
scheduled for June 2004
o Preparation of a work plan to assess the vertical and lateral extent of 1,2-DCA-impacted
ground water
6.0. LIMITATIONS
Our professional services were performed using that degree of care and skill ordinarily exercised by
environmental consultants practicing in this or similar localities The findings were based upon field
measurements and analytical results provided by an independent laboratory Evaluations of the
hydrogeologic conditions at the site for the purpose of this investigation are made from a limited
number of available data points (i a monitoring wells, ground water samples) and subsurface
conditions may vary away from these data points No other warranty, expressed or implied,is made
as to the professional interpretations, opinions and recommendations contained in this report
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
