COLLECTION OF GROUND:WATER SAMPLES <br /> Water samples were collected from the purged well using new a disposable plastic bailer.Each water <br /> sample was transferred into 40-m1 VOA vials containing 0.5 ml 18%hydrochloric acid as a sample <br /> preservative, and into one f-liter amber bottle without sample preservative. After collection, thee- <br /> samples were properly labeled,placed in a chilled container and transported under chain-of-custody <br /> to <br /> y <br /> to Alphal Analytical Laboratories, Inc. (AAI), and were analyzed for: <br /> • TPH-g in accordance with GCFID 5030A; <br /> Los • TPH-d in accordance with EPA Method 8015M; <br /> • BTEX in accordance with EPA Method 8260B; and <br /> DIPE, ETBE, MTBE, TAME and TBA in accordance with EPA Method 8260B, - <br /> ry <br /> 4.0. FINDINGS <br /> 6 <br /> Stratigraphy observed during advancment of MW 1 at the site was found to be generally silts and <br /> sands with gravel encountered at approximately 30 feet to 40 feet bsg. Ground water levels were <br /> within the screen interval of the monitoring well; laboratory analysis of soil and ground water <br /> samples indicate no hydrocarbon impact to the samples analyzed. 2 ,A <br /> 4.1. STRATIGRAPHY <br /> Generally brown, damp silt was encountered between approximately 5 feet and 20 feet bsg. At 20 <br /> feet bsg the lithologywas damp,poorly-graded fine sand.Between 30 feet and 37 feet bsg,a medium <br /> sand with gravel graded downward to a gravel with coarse sand.Alternating silty sand and sandy silt <br /> were found from approximately.40 feet to 70 feet bsg. A boring log is included as Appendix A. <br /> Organic vapor was not detected in MW L PID data is included'on the boring log (Appendix A). <br /> 4.2. DEPTH TO GROUND WATER <br /> For the July 2000 sampling event,the depth to ground water was 59.04 feet below the top ofthe well <br /> casing.
