In
the meeting you described additional data that was required to prepare the RWD, but explained much of
the data would not be available until crush season is underway, or until data could be modeled. In both
cases, Canandaigua could not complete the RWD by the 11 February 2002 due date included in the
Regional Board's 13 November 2001 Request For Report of Waste Discharge correspondence.
In our meeting, Regional Board staff explained that the existing WDRs are due for update, that allowing
a schedule extension until 2003 to collect data was not acceptable, and that many of the studies
Canandaigua plans to perform can be included as technical reports required by the Provisions Section of
the WDRs. To facilitate preparation of the WDRs, by 15 March 2002 Canandaigua shall submit the
available data that has been prepared and a list of technical studies that will be undertaken to improve
the wastewater system. A California Registered Engineer shall prepare the RWD.
Because Canandaigua Wine Company already pays an annual fee, no additional fee is required with the
RWD. If you have any questions about this request, please telephone me at(916) 255-3116.
TIMOTHY R.
