• •
1.0 PURPOSE AND SETTING
The purpose of this work plan is to provide details regarding the monitoring
well installation and sampling techniques which will be used to install three
monitoring wells on the California Concentrates Facility. The facility is located
in Acampo, California at 18678 North Highway 99 in San Joaquin County.
Jacobson Helgoth Consultants,Inc., (JHC) has been retained by DJH Engineering
and California Concentrates to plan and complete the proposed work effort.
This work plan is being completed in response to the February 14, 2001 letter
from the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB) which
required a revised monitoring and reporting program.
For this work plan, the monitoring well work plan guidance document attached
to the referenced letter was used. This document herein provides preliminary
information and rationale for monitoring well placement. Boring logs for the
two existing wells on site were available and are provided in Attachment A.
Information in the area indicates that the near surface geology is comprised of fill
and reworked alluvial deposits. Sand bed thickness does vary. Ground water
may be semiconfjned beneath plastic clays. The ground water flow direction is
assumed to be to the North with a southerly ground water flow direction due to
seasonal variations. Water levels from the two existing wells were used, but
mounding can be observed from the ponds and river located to the south. Refer
to Section 2.0 for more details. The well depths of the existing wells are
approximately 35 feet below ground surface(bgs) and ground water has been
encounterd at depths greater than 15 feet bgs. A ground water elevation table is
provided in Section 2.0.
Catifomia Concentrates Monitoring Well Work Plan Issued: June 8,2001
JHC Project No.493-01 1 Revision 1
