l
D. Methamphetamine
Methamphetamine affects the central nervous system in a manner similar to adrenaline and
is extremely addictive. Its affects are longer lasting than those of other amphetamines.
The amount identified in the sample collected was 48 micrograms/ftZ (µg/ft).
VI. RECOMMENDATIONS
A. At this time after careful review of the site investigation and sample analysis, the dwelling
appears to have been impacted by chemical contamination related to clandestine laboratory
activities. The following items shall be addressed prior to re-occupancy:
1. All porous soft goods in the unit (carpet, clothing, bedding, etc.) shall be handled
as contaminated waste and disposed of according to'hazardous waste disposal
regulations.
2. All hard. surfaces and items in the dwelling (including the interior
walls/floors/ceilings of the dwelling) shall undergo on site decontamination via a
non-phosphate based cleaner, followed by triple rinsing with clean water.
3. All work to be conducted shall be in accordance with all applicable local, state and
federal regulations. We recommend that a licensed and qualified hazardous waste
contractor perform all cleaning, waste packaging and disposal. Engineering
controls and personal protective equipment-should be implemented.
4. Post remediation sampling shall be conducted in the unit to verify the effectiveness
of the remediation work.
5. Once post remediation sampling results indicate surfaces have been cleaned to
reasonable levels, all surfaces should be repainted to encapsulate any remaining
Methamphetamine residues.
ed at your request to quantify the actual extent
6. Additional sampling may be conduct
of contamination throughout the dwelling.
B. Disclosures
1.
