r 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> ■ This Health and Safety Plan describes the procedures that shall be followed to protect the <br /> health and safety of employees engaged in fieldwork at 25705 W. Patterson Pass Road, <br /> Tracy, California. <br /> This Health and Safety Plan has been developed to comply with applicable federal, state, <br /> and local health and safety requirements including California Occupational Safety and <br /> Health Administration's (Cal-OSHA) requirements contained in Title 8 of the California <br /> Code of Regulations, Section 5192 (8 CCR 5192) and federal OSHA requirements <br /> contained in Title 29 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Section 1910.120 (29 CFR <br /> 1910.120). <br /> The observance and practice of the health and safety procedures specified in this plan, <br /> and compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, pertaining to health <br /> and safety, are mandatory for all personnel and visitors. In the event of conflicting <br /> requirements, the procedures that provide the highest degree of required personal <br /> protection shall be implemented. <br /> A copy of the site health and safety plan shall be kept onsite and made available for <br /> inspection and review by employees, clients, agency personnel, and other visitors. <br /> ' 2.0 WORK ACTIVITIES <br /> ' The following is a brief description of the work activities to be performed at the site: <br /> Clayton will supervise subcontractors whom shall be involved in tasks associated with <br /> the advancement of ten soil borings in order to characterize fill material at the site and to <br /> ' define its vertical delineation. Clayton personnel will perform associated tasks. <br /> 3.0 ONSITE ORGANIZATION <br /> Each person at the site shall be responsible for following the guidelines outlined in this <br /> health and safety plan. The site safety officer is Erick Leif(or other person designated by <br /> Clayton). The site safety officer's duties are to: <br /> • Evaluate the site for actual and potential hazards prior to the commencement of work <br /> • Oversee implementation of the health and safety plan <br /> i • Confirm that all personnel have proper training and protective equipment <br /> • Conduct a "tailgate" meeting on the first day before field activities commence <br /> • Stop work if the health or safety of workers is in question <br /> ' PUS: TROMCISV'004\W%SMI Tracy P=p Su.o HSP n.do t <br />
