Each of these potential hazards is discussed below. <br /> 4.1. CHEMICAL HAZARDS <br /> Potential hazards generally associated with chemical contamination present in the soils or <br /> liquids in an underground tank, if present, include exposure through the following routes: <br /> (1) skin or eye contact resulting in skin damage and in some cases, dermal absorption; (2) <br /> inhalation of chemical vapors, dust or gases; and, (3) ingestion of chemicals. A list of <br /> chemicals and the exposure pathways and health effects anticipated to be encountered on <br /> site is included in Appendix B. <br /> To minimize the potential for exposure to chemical contaminants, personal protective <br /> equipment as specified in this plan must be wom. Site control measures will also be <br /> taken to minimize exposures and to provide for contingency measures. <br /> 4.2.
