It is good to hear trenching will be completed this week. One step closer
to remediation start-up at the former Unocal site. Thank you for keeping us
up to date. Marty.
>>> "Steve Bright" <sbright@environmentalauditinc.com> 01/04/02 03:32PM >>>
Happy New Year! Hope everybody had a nice holiday.
We will begin trenching across Robinhood Drive and installation of the
remedial piping on Tuesday, January 8, 2002. As per City of Stockton permit
conditions, the work will be completed at night, and we expect to be
finished with the trenching across the street by no later than early Friday
morning (January 11) . This work must be completed prior to the January 20,
2002, moratorium on street work.
We will meet with Stone Brothers representatives at the site during this
time period to discuss the "sink hole" issue and how best to proceed with
locating the conveyance piping on the former Unocal site.
Based on discussions today (January 4) with Toni Guantone of Delta College,
the college has elected to leave the new well at the same location as the
test hole started on November 8, 2001. This decision is reportedly based on
the results of the analytical testing of the debris encountered, the
additional exploratory borings completed around the test hole on December
11, 2001, location of existing conveyance lines (e.g. , electrical and water)
and the assumption that the new well will have a 200 foot grout seal.
Accordingly, the college has requested that the RWQCB and San Joaquin County
PHS-EHD indicate, by January 11, 2002, whether they have any objection to
this location. If there are no objections then the test hole, water
sampling, E-log, etc. will be completed and a final well design submitted
for review and approval.
Steve
(714) 632-8521, ext. 224
2
