This section describes the security and safety measures to be provided by the Contractor at <br /> all times until acceptance of the work by the College. <br /> 1.02 SECURITY <br /> A. Provide protection for materials, tools, and equipment being employed in the Project, including <br /> the tools of workers. The College shall not be held responsible for loss of, or any damage to, <br /> materials,tools, equipment, or personal belongings of the Contractor or of those employed by <br /> him, by contract or otherwise. <br /> 1.03 PROTECTION <br /> A. Continuously maintain protection as necessary to protect the work as a whale and in part, <br /> and adjacent property and improvements form accidents, injuries, or damage. <br /> B. The Contractor shall erect and maintain during the life of the work, a temporary construction <br /> fence around the work site to keep unauthorized personnel from entering the site and to keep <br /> his personnel from parking vehicles or placing materials and equipment outside the work site. <br /> C. Post and maintain guards around the work site to keep public a minimum of 75' away thirty <br /> minutes(30) prior to and ten(10)minutes after detonation of explosives. <br /> 1.04 CONTROL OF SITE <br /> A. The contractor shall ensure that no alcohol, firearm,weapon, or controlled substance enters <br /> or is used at the Project site. The Contractor shall immediately remove from the site and <br /> terminate the employment on any employee found in violation of this provision. <br /> B. The Contractor shall only park his equipment and vehicles in locations designated by the <br /> College. <br /> 1.05 TRAFFIC CONTROL <br /> A. Contractor shall comply with all applicable Federal,State, County and Local requirements as <br /> required for traffic control and public safety during project construction. Coordination with the <br /> proper agencies and the placement and maintenance of warning signs, lights and other traffic <br /> control devices, as may be required, shall be the responsibility of the Contractor. <br /> B. Temporary road closures to allow the Contractor's vehicles and equipment to enter the site <br /> will be allowed. The Contractor shall provide flaggers to control traffic. <br /> C. The Contractor shall advise the City of Stockton's fire department, across the street from the <br /> project site, twenty four(24) hours in advance of any road closures. <br /> D. During detonation of the explosive charges in the well, the entrance road east of the project <br /> site shall be closed. The Contractor shall detour northbound traffic on Burke Bradley Drive to <br /> the west at the intersection of the east and north roads, and shall prohibit south bound traffic <br /> from entering the campus via Yokuts for a period of ten (10) minutes prior, and thirty(30) <br /> minutes following detonation of explosive charges in the well. <br /> E. Coordinate traffic and road closures with the College's police chief. <br /> 01540-1 <br />
