We plan to use an 8-inch HSA. The SJCEHD permit and fees will
be submitted by Tuesday, October 23, 2007, and yes, you have the correct billing address for ENSR. I have also
attached the current access agreement from the property owner. In the event that the acceptance/approval letter
for the addendum is not received in time from the CVWB to process the permit, ENSR will provide you with an
alternate drilling date.
I will be out of the office next week, so please notify Eric Siegel if there is a problem with the paperwork. Thank
you for your assistance.
Jennifer
From: Mike Infurna [EH] [mailto:MInfurna@sjcehd.com]
Sent: Friday, October 19, 2007 2:08 PM
To: Johnston, Jennifer
Cc: Siegel, Eric;jbarton@waterboards.ca.gov
Subject: RE: scheduled: replacement well (MW-15R)for 5606/5400 Pacific Avenue, Stockton
I have received the work plan on September 10. Can you tell me if you plan on changing the size of the augers in
the addendum? My experience has shown that trying to install a 2.25 inch OD PVC casing and adding sand and
adding bentonite inside of a 3.24 inch ID of the augers to be very difficult to complete without bridging either the
sand or the bentonite. If the bridging can not be removed, the well can not be completed. Additionally, the
SJCEHD Well Standards require NLT a two inch annulus of grout around the casing (between the casing and the
borehole)after the augers are removed. I will be onsite to verify this requirement and the well can not be grouted
if the grout annulus is less than 2 inches.
Unfortunately I can not accept/confirm an appointment to drill until the permit has been issued. I will reserve the
morning for this activity with the understanding that all of the required submittals are at the SJCEHD with enough
time for me to process. At a minimum, the SJCEHD requires two working days notice for appointments for field
inspections.
As a precaution, I recommend you check with your drilling contractor for a PLAN B date just in case you don't
provide me with enough time to meet your schedule. Next week is a very busy field schedule for me and I'll be out
of the office most of the time. If you wait until the last minute to get me the correct submittals, there is a significant
chance the permit will not be issued in time to meet your date. I strongly recommend you get me all the following
NLT Tuesday, Oct 23.
At a minimum, I will need:
-the revised/addended work plan,
-the lead agency approval letter,
-a SJCEHD permit application (two-paged),
-an $89 fee submittal and
10/19/2007
