Mike Infurna [EH]
From: Jim Barton Ubarton@waterboards.ca.gov]
Sent: Friday, February 16, 2007 6:44 AM
To: RLheureux@ensr.aecom.com; Mike Infurna [EH]
Subject: RE: Emailing: Decommissioning Work Plan 2-15-07.pdf
Thanks Mike. Rob, that approval is in addition to my requirements previously stated in
my email, which do not conflict with SJCEHD approval (coordination with construction
manager and acceptable finish grade, characterize waste) .
I stopped yesterday at the site and spoke with the construction superintendent about the
planned well destruction. The General Contractor for the construction site is SD Deacon;
the manager is Jeff Page, Superintendent. The construction project is Stone Creek Village
in Stockton. His contact information is:
jeff.page@deacon.com
office 916.969.0900
fax 916.729.0900
mobile 916.869.4508
Mr. Page stated yesterday that he plans to start grading the corner on Tuesday, and
promised to work around us. I told him that the replacement well installation would wait
until they had finished their work. He requested a call from you, Robert, to coordinate
your plans for the well decommissioning. Please proceed to the office trailer for
clearance prior to accessing the well location (it was fenced off as of yesterday) .
I have a meeting at SJCEHD starting at 0930 hours on Wednesday. If it does not last too
long into the afternoon, I plan to stop by the site again. Please leave a message on my
cell phone voicemail when you finish: 916.847.7321
Thanks.
Jim
James L.L. I assume that the idea of actually applying pressure was
intended some where in there, although I never actually read it. I can live with it as is,
but in the future please include some verbiage that actually states pressure will be
applied to the casing after the grout has been introduced until no more grout can be
taken.
It's the pressure that makes this method and it is also commonly a problem that needs
additional help in the field to properly destroy the well. Check with your driller to
ensure "pressure" can be applied and maintained in the field.
The work plan is approved.
Please get Greg Drilling to authorize ERIC SIEGEL signing on their behalf. The EHD form,
"LCD" included in your packet to me DID NOT have the bottom section filled out that
authorizes someone else to sign. I tried to get it from Greg Drilling but got cutoff.
1
