I am also concerned that, with every shut down of the SVE system, there has been an increase
in petroleum hydrocarbon pollution in monitoring wells and a need to expand the monitoring well network to
characterize the lateral extent of the groundwater plume. Therefore,I recommend that ENSR either fix the SVE
system to run through the winter-spring months, or provide more direct evidence in a formal request report that
the proposed shutdown will not be detrimental to the investigation and remedial cleanup of the"Site".
You may call me.at(916)464-4615 for questions or additional information.
JAMES L.BARYOtNP G
Engineering Geologist
Enclosures
cc: Mr. Mark Owens,UST Cleanup Fund, SWRCB, Sacramento
Mr. Mike Infuma, San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division, Stockton-
Ms. Jill Tracy,Esq., UNOCAL,,Brea
Mr. Robert L'Heureux,ENSR International, Sacramento
Mr. Gary Hall,GHH Engineering,Inc.,Auburn,CA
Mr. Merswind Reyer,Downey Brand Attorneys LLP, 555 Capitol Mall, 10h Floor, Sacramento 95814
