AECOM submitted this attachment but I feel that neither of these have the
specifics that you're actually looking for. In an effort to save time and prevent
multiple submittals, I have been waiting on submitting an addendum with all this
information until after we had an agreed upon how each well would be
destroyed. Having talked and emailed with you on multiple occasions, I am
confident that you will find my methods acceptable.
Thanks,
Josh Ewert I Senior Staff Geologist
Geocon Consultants, Inc.
3160 Gold Valley Drive Suite 800, Rancho Cordova, CA
95742
Tel. 916.852.9118 Fax 916.852.9132
www.geoconinc.com
From: Mike Infurna [EH] [mailto:MInfurna@sjcehd.com]
Sent: Monday, November 07, 20118:42 AM
To: Josh Ewert
Subject: RE: 5400 and 5606 Pacific Avenue, Stockton - Well Destruction
Information
Josh,
I'm passing this on to the bosses for their input.
Be prepared to provide some rationale how pressured
grout is expected to pass out of the small injector wells
and fill up the sand filter pore space.
Did I count correctly? You're contesting 13 wells out of
89?
1 can't remember, are you prepared for "a hole, one foot
larger in diameter than the originally drilled hole, shall be
excavated around the outside of the well casing to a depth
of 3-feet below the ground surface, and the well casing
shall then be cut off 6-inches above the bottom of this
excavation and removed"? For an 8-inch borehole, that's
a 20-inch hole and this is the requirement for pressure
grouted wells (wells where the casing, filter pack,
bentonite, and grout seal are left in place).
I can't seem to find the actual work plan for the well
destructions. Have you submitted it to me? IF not, please
do. I'll continue to look for it now that you are working on
this site again.
12/20/2011
