The trailer-mounted compressor was attached to the air sparge
' conveyance piping in the compound to verify the integrity of the underground conveyance piping.
Breakthrough pressure, stabilized operating pressure, and stabilized flow rate were measured at the
wellhead while air was being fed to the air sparge piping at the remediation compound. The test was
' interrupted because water was observed in the rotameter. However, by that time, several readings of
the stabilized operating pressure and flow rate had already been recorded. The water observed in the
rotameter at well MW-23S is assumed to have been in the sparge conveyance lines.
The following measurements were collected on March 23, 2007 with the rented compressor connected
to the air sparge conveyance line in the remediation compound:
Table 4
Pressure and Air Flow Rates for MW-23S with Sufficient Compressor Capacity at the Compound
' Air Breakthrough Pressure Stabilized Operating Stabilized Operating Flow
Sparge at the Well Head (psi) Pressure at the Well Rate Measured
at the Well
Well Head (psi) )
' MW-23S 60 52 g
' The March 23, 2007 tests confirm that air flow can be established in wells on both sides of Robinhood
Drive through the use of a compressor with a higher-pressure capacity than is currently operated at the
' site. The existing air sparge conveyance piping can be used to establish air flow in wells on the north
side of Robinhood Drive, but water in the lines indicate that a leak exists and that conveyance line under
A Trusted Global Environmental,Health and Safety Partner
' Sparge Flow Rate
Summary_Stoddon_306620 Final.doc
